This was my second visit to Mousuni Island, and this time we opted for Alaffia Camp. Unfortunately, the experience didn't meet expectations compared to my previous visit at another camp. The toilets were not well-maintained, and the food quality was average at best. In contrast, the previous camp offered much better food at a more affordable price. Additionally, the beach in front of the camp was not very appealing. That said, the positive aspect of the trip was the chance to break free from the daily routine and relax with friends—after all, that's what Mousuni is all about, right? However, based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this camp.

The management of Alafia has another Tourist camping spot at Lalganj in Bakkhali called 'Antillia Tourist Camping' which is absolutely mesmerising! The staff members are polite and humble. Besides, the quality and quantity of food are exceptional! The infrastructure of the camping spot looks raw and real which brings you closer to the nature. Here, you can have wonderful experiences of mangroves through boat journey which gives an equal feel like that of the Sundarbans. All in all, we had a completely wonderful and satisfying experience! Highly recommended!

As a off-beat place, it's one of the best place to visit if you want to stay away from crowd. Run away to this village beside Hoogly river, where you can have tasty barbeque chicken at evening with whispers of waves and a soothing breeze. Take half a day to reach if stating in kolkata.Take a train to Namkhana -> take a toto to any of tha ghat -> take the ferry -> take another toto to your camp.Or simply take your bikeI prefer Alafiia camp beacause of its cleanliness, soothing begaviour and the quality of food and stay.

Alafia @ Mousuni Island was bad nightmare experience for us. We have been there on 27-28 March '21 with 18 headcounts.First of all Surojit from Alafia goofed up on booking, we had initially requested for 3 travelers cottages and 2 Family tents for 19 headcounts, but later it was readjusted to 18 headcounts so it was requested for 3 travelers cottages and 1 family tent, 2 adventure tent. The booking was initially confirmed but the day before the journey they reconfirmed that there is 2 travelers cottage and not 3.Secondly, post reaching the Alafia at Mousuni, while we are registering ourselves at the office we are asked for the rest of the payment, when it was discussed clearly at the inception of booking, 50% advance payment and the rest 50% payment to be made at the time of checkout. Travelers cottage was equipped with attached bathroom which not cleaned, there is a wash basin in the cottage which does not have a tap or water inlet or outlet pipe. The family tents are meant for 6-7 people for which they are providing 1 pedestal fan, we literally had to follow up for 2 hours to get the tents cleaned and additional fans to be set up.Thirdly, Electric connection is very poor, and due to very low voltage and often disruption of electric supply it was getting from bad to worse. Food prepared was pathetic and some item are half cooked. On 28th March early morning there was transformer malfunction in the island hence power supply and water supply was affected. From Bad to worse to nightmare experience. For managing a crowd of 70 folks there are only 3 service boys who were literally stretched and was not able to manage. The only silver lining is the beach, the sea to have swim and bath (check in google for the timings of high tide and low tide), the boat ride to Jambu Dweep (Island) and the service boys at Alafia who gave more than there best to keep us satisfied.
